Non-profit organizations have a reason, for a reason and are the reason. They act on what they can to give back to a society that cannot always give back to themselves for reasons, etc. A great way that non-profit workers can collect resources to help with that goal is to raise money by holding a raffle fundraiser. Raffle success can be most beneficial when teamwork is achieved using; word-of-mouth, the input-to-benefit ratio of the ticket buyer, and the enjoyment of being involved. Raffle fundraisers are a network of people that work together for a reason bigger than themselves. That is not always easy, but it is doable.
The power of word-of-mouth. Social media is a great way for word-of-mouth to be utilized for free. The words must include the clear purpose of what the raffle is for and what is being raffled. This is a simple way to let the possible purchaser know the raffle fundraiser advertised is true and legitimate. Although non-profits know that not everyone can buy a ticket, but they know they can share for a chance to reach someone that can. So many people are involved in non-profit, they themselves have a loud voice. Non-profit workers can share with their churches, whom are likely to help spread the word. The reason of a non-profit always has a story, and a lot of people like to hear that story. It makes them feel more personally involved and more likely to buy a ticket.
Raffle prizes and popularity can vary. The more expensive the ticket, the more expensive the prize. The natural will of the buyer is to always feel they have the potential to gain more with what they are initially inputting. A popular raffle idea has been to buy many lottery tickets and display them in a way so that the potential winner feels they have more to gain. Organizations may approach businesses to possibly donate a raffle item. These can include bikes, gift cards, tools, large equipment, gift baskets, or services, etc… Bigger ticket items, such as vehicles, from cars to tractors are not unheard of. Not only will an organization receive a raffle prize to giveaway, the business will in-turn get free advertisement through the raffle fundraiser and a tax-deduction with the donated prize.
Volunteers play a big role in the running of these non-profit organizations to reach goals in the raffle fundraisers. Like all humans and items in space, they to be put in motion to stay in motion. By doing this they need motivation to do more and reach higher goals. This can be done in many ways. One way is for the staff or self-motivated volunteers to cheer on and pep talk others in what good going out to sell tickets can do. How much the volunteers are appreciated. Some good for the soul speeches are always good. Another way is by putting an incentive in place for the most raffle tickets sold by any one person. Of course, this incentive will not be able to be as pricey as the actual raffle item. Just the idea that something can be won, is enough for the competitiveness to come out in people.
Non-profit raffle fundraisers are a great way for these organizations to raise funds for causes that would any other time be lost. Small corroborated efforts put forth can make great changes for all. Word-of-mouth does much more work than a sign posted, prizes with great variation draws crowds, and motivation is not just for Mondays.
