John F. Kennedy said in his inaugural speech, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.†With these famous seventeen words came a extremely important message, as an American citizen one of the many responsibilities is to help take care of their neighbors just as they would take care of themselves. This has evolved with society into many different forms such as charity events. One event is raffle tickets which can be beneficial when the community is involved and when the prizes are donated.
An idea is only as strong as the people who support it. When an individual wants to see change it is hard to do so alone but there is a place to start, in their own community. In communities it is typically like-minded individuals that a person has grown up with or who people have watched them grow up and come to know and love. This forms a bond almost that ld consider as strong as blood and communities tend to always have each other’s backs. When a community is supporting this individual it is easier for them to jump start and get ahead on their charity event, such as their raffle ticket sale at the local basketball or football game. When the community is aware of the event it will raise more money because more people will have the knowledge to go out and help. It will also raise more money because they will want to support their community and it’s people. When a community becomes involved in the end it only leads to a positive outcome.
When the community is involved it makes things a million times easier because people will be willing to help. When it comes to raffle tickets people do expect prizes and those prizes can get extremely expensive and sometimes it is really difficult for a group of people to come up with ideas. It is best and beneficial to ask for help through local businesses and sometimes even bigger stores are willing to help the communities they sell to. Not only is it helping the charity and the person holding the raffle sale, it also helps the business because it helps get their name out and it also helps their public image. People prefer businesses that help and support their community. When prizes are donated it saves the organizations so much more money that then will be able to be used for the charity.
While raffle ticket fundraisers are a great way to raise money it can be extremely stressful for the people in charge. When a person is supported by their community it is a huge weight taken off of their shoulders. When the community is involved it makes prize options easier thanks to local businesses and makes the donation to charity much larger. When a person is lifted up and helped they can achieve greatness.
